Creative Expression Contest 2023

Calling all Oasis Teens!!!

Our friends at Parks & People Foundation have three amazing bikes that need a home!

If you're a high school student living or attending school within The Urban Oasis' community, you could be the winner of a 26" mountain bike!​

Here's how to enter to win:

​

- Complete the "Teen Tales" registration form below and submit answers to each of the following questions:

​

​1) What can you do to make your community better?

2) What can your community do to make you better?

​

- You can submit your answers in the following formats:

​

1) Essay/ Narrative

2) Poetry

3) Photographs (Must include captions explaining imagery)

4) Video responses (Must be submitted through a Youtube URL)

​

- Once you've submitted your responses, your name will automatically be entered into a raffle for the bikes. 

​

- Attend the 2023 Holiday Festival at The Urban Oasis (2131 N. Dukeland St. Baltimore, MD 21216) on Friday, December 22, 2023 where three names will be drawn from the raffle. (Winners must be present during the event to pick up their bikes. If a name is drawn but the person is not present, a new name will be chosen until a winner is present to claim the prize.)

- Submissions by applicants will be put on display during The Urban Oasis' Holiday Festival on December 8, 2023, and will remain up through the New Year.

What can you do to make your community better?

For Essay, Narrative, or Poetry response, use this section:

Qualifications, Terms & Conditions:

​

- Applicants must be between the ages of 13 and 19 at the time of submission to qualify

- Applicants must reside, attend a high school, be homeschooled within The Urban Oasis' service area or have taken part in the Oasis Teens Environmental Program to qualify.

- Service area includes Panway, Greater Mondawmin, Hanlon and Walbrook communities 

- Submissions will qualify applicant for one raffle entry

- Applicant's name will be placed in the raffle only once, regardless of the number of submissions applicant makes

- Submissions must NOT contain profanity, racial or derogatory slurs, nudity or sexually suggestive material.

- Completion of application and agreement to terms & conditions indicates the full understanding and approval that all materials submitted may be used by The Urban Oasis for public display and/or marketing purposes at the discretion of The Urban Oasis

- Applicant's personal information is for qualification purposes and will not be shared publicly apart from First Name and age

- Applicants must be in attendance during the raffle selection at The Urban Oasis' 2023 Holiday Fesitval on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm at The Lot at The Urban Oasis in order to claim their prize

- If a name is drawn but the person is not present, a new name will be chosen until a winner is present to claim the prize

- Raffle winners are responsible for claiming and picking up prize by 7pm on December 22, 2023

- Raffle winners must provide proof of name and age, and address or school attendance in order to receive prize (examples: Report Card; ID; Mail)
